Family Promise of Bergen County (FPBC) addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness, as they are vital to strengthening our community. Since 1986, our mission has been to empower low-income, working families experiencing and at-risk of homelessness to become permanently self-sufficient. FPBC provides approximately 450 individuals each year with temporary housing, homeless prevention assistance and personalized wrap around support services that include financial education, job training and a trauma-informed summer program for children. FPBC has been addressing food insecurity by distributing free, healthy meals every day since 1991, reaching approximately 400 individuals annually. This fall the program reached the milestone of serving our 1.5 millionth meal to neighbors facing homelessness and hunger.
